NOKJ

NOKJ(No One Killed Jessica)!!!!

The movie is inspired from a famous murder case in Delhi, where the accused were acquitted by the lower courts, leading to nationwide protests, reopening of the case and subsequent sentencing of the accused.  The story is very closely coupled with the real life incident. The title is inspired by from a headline in TOI(Times of India) in 2006.

The movie is very well scripted, as the climax of the movie was known but it keeps the interests of the viewers. Movie is driven by two strong performances of Vidya and Rani. Vidya comes up with yet another impressive performance, from the bold Ishkiya to Strong and Silent NOKJ. Rani’s come back performance will buy her more character performances. The movie shows the struggle of a women who is asking justice for her killed sister and the challenges she faces in the form of power and corruption. Rani an ambitious and vibrant journalist helps Vidya in her quest of seeking justice in an unorthodox way. Amit Trivedi has given  good sound tracks with the leading chart-buster ”da da da dilli dilli”.

Overall a nice watch for the weekend. Will rate it 3.5/5.

Happy Viewing !!!

Band Baaja Barat

Wow !!!

This was my first reaction after watching the movie. After a series of  not so entertaining movies in bollywood, this has come out as a great entertainer. The movie is very refreshing and you come out of the theater singing “Awai Awai Awai loot gaya”. The story is very good and keeps the audience glued to the screen. The music is just too good, title song “Band Baaja Barat” and  ”Awai Awai Awai loot gaya” are the new addition to the new year blast songs list.

The story starts with Bitto (Ranveer Singh) as a Delhi college student, who is basically from saharanpur. He meets Shruti (Anushka Sharma) in a marriage. Bitto is asked by his father to join sugarcane business in saharanpur, but Bitto has different plans. The movie offers great entertainment with a good light screenplay to enjoy. A prolonged kiss scene adds a little more spice in the story.

The debutant Ranveer Singh has done good work and plays off well in the Haryanvi boy’s character. He looks confident and has looks and dancing ability to back his talent. Anushka Sharma on other hand has been fab’s as ever. She has grown as an actress and has done wonders with her talent. The dresses of Anushka Sharma will be a look out for the girls.

Overall a nice, fun filled and refreshing entertainer. If you are not doing something on weekend go with your friends and enjoy. Even if you are busy take some time off and watch and enjoy the movie. My rating 3.5/5  :) .

IPL3-Mumbai Indians

What a match!!!! Its been a perfect start for Mumbai Indians in IPL3. The opening match with RR(Rajasthan Royals) has laid the platform for a good IPL3 season for them. They look lot more confident side then the previous seasons. If Sachin continues to be in the same form he is in since last few months, we can look forward for great IPL3 for MI. The team has started as favorites and if they keep this momentum going, might be they can finish as ultimate favorites.

The best part about the first match has been the domestics players. The start was provided by the greatest of the game, but it was upto the middle order to capitalize. Tiwary and Raydu played sensibly to post a target of 213. The total that looked very difficult but what an innings by Yusuf Pathan. He was just toying with the bowling. The only hope Rajasthan had and it nearly proved to be rite till Yusuf perished unfortunately of a run out. It was a nail-biting match and adrenalin flowing to the fullest. In the end MI were able to pull it back with the experience of Zaheer and Malinga.

Cheers for MI……………..

Wake Up Sid :)

Today i got a chance to watch Wake Up Sid. It is a story about a rich spoiled child(Ranbir) who has no aim in his life. He is just happy to go out with friends have a good time and has no tension in his life. Just one day to his bad luck he fails in his graduation and all his friends are passed. The story takes a U-Turn and the transformation happens in him. He meets an carrier oriented girl(Konkana) and thus the story goes. It is an normal paced movie with not much twist and turns, can be said that not a typical Bollywood masala.

Ranbir is looking pretty cool in the movie and the overall character of sid goes with his personality very well. His acting skills are much more improved. Konkana as always has done her bit of acting very well and has been able to keep a good on screen chemistry with Ranbir.

The songs are really nice and pleasant. The Title track ‘Wake Up Sid’ is really cool. The songs are very well placed and the best part is no song is pushed into the movie. Manish Malhotra has done a great work with the dresses. Ranbir stuff is very cool and lively as per the character.

One liner for the movie can be ‘Light Weight’. It deserves a onetime watch and for all those Ranbir fans this is a must watch for them.

Dan Tanaaa Ta Na Nanaaaa!!!

Dan Tanaaa Ta Na Nanaaaa, a song in the latest Vishal Bhardwaj movie. kaminey is the name and is fully suited for the movie. Movie is about two brothers who after their father’s death go separate ways in their lives. One chooses to take shortcut or i should say Fortcut to earn money and the other takes the simple straight way. But much to their luck destiny brings them face to face again to garnish there not to be good life with more complications. As the movie is nomenclature Kaminey, it depicts greed of money and the extent one can get to have it.

The movie is full of action, so please all of you who like Shahid as an chocolate hero beware of Fock(shock) that you’ll get. Much to Shahid’s fan club this is a real change over for him and  hope people like him in his new avatar. Great looks by him and has done justice to both Charlie and Guddu role, but I liked Charlie better all due to ‘F’ factor. Priyanka has done her bit of acting well ,as all the story revolved around Shahid.

The background score of the movie is good. Well timed songs makes it all the more enjoyable, movie didn’t needed much songs. At few occasions I thought it is a mixture of parallel and commercial cinema. But over all a nice movie to watch and no wonder after watching the movie you’ll say Fahid instead of Shahid.

Love Aaj Kal(LAK)

Let’s have ronak shaunak, let’s have some party now……..
Yes guys you all guessed it right, it is Imtiaz Ali’s latest movie Love Aaj Kal. Refreshing as lemon soda, spicy as paani puri, irresistible as rasgulla. Imtiaz has moved one step forward after Jab Ve Met and has produced yet another magical and refreshing movie. Movie after watching it you’ll come out and feel WOW “Mazza aa gaya yaar”.

The movie has all the ingredients for a full on entertainment foot tapping songs, creative nice dialoges, blended with nice clean sense of comedy and topped with a perfect style statement. The songs are really well placed in the movie, great camera work, nice cinematography. Technically speaking the movie is great and will surely make big money.

Deepika “haaaaaaaaaaaa” Deepika, trust me guys she is awesome in the movie, some better work by her till date. Leaving behind her OSO act, she has stepped forward in acting and all credit to her dress designer as she was looking just perfect in the movie. In Bachnaa Ae Haseeno she was a level less, than what she is in LAK. She has shown that she is evolving as an actress and very well matched her chemistry with Saif.

Saif as usual is our cool dude, he has found his line of acting and is comfortable in doing similar kind of acts. The transformation that took place in DCH has changed Saif for good, as few actor’s should not experiment too much with there style form. He is good when he plays this cool dude acts be it DCH, Hum Tum, Ta Ra Ram Pam, Salam Namaste, Kal Ho Na Ho to name a few.

The script of the movie is good and is very well tagged with it’s music and flow. The over all impact of the movie is great or should say is very well presented.

A must watch movie if you like to get entertained. And a piece of advice when you go to watch this movie take few friends with you. You will enjoy more trust me!!!

Kambakkht Ishq

Kambakkht Ishq !!!

Hey guys ! if you think it’s an review of the recent  bollywood flick, then i must say you are wrong. I m just trying to jot down few words from this ocean of Ishq(Love), in an attempt to learn what exactly it means. The things which i’ll be describing may not be accepted by everyone, but i am just writing my(Boyish) version of the story.

Just traverse back in time to the school days when it was just starting of teen age and beginning of Infatuation season. Girls looked angles to boys. Boys are all ready to do any thing for there lady love. Be it buying an ice cream or sharing his favorite pencil, attracting her with her latest wrist watch or a mobile video game. Guys never think what all they do just to get notice of his girl. If somebody is heard saying bad about her girl, bashed him in the sports field. Just go back into the past and think what all you have done similar to this. I guess you will recollect some memories. <Kambakkht Ishq>

Now moving ahead school is over, crazy college days. Now the girl in the class room is known not by her name but known like ” Hey See her Amit waali, sahi hai naa?”. College is the most common place when one gets infected with this disease of <Kambakkht Ishq>. All the efforts of parents from almost 20 years comes to an end. Willing to leave every thing for the one who they know for 20 weeks or 20 days. Have got no money to have a decent lunch but gift is more important. Semester exams are on the top of the head but have to make a 2-3 hour long good night phone call. Result few backlocks. College is getting over, just a cold bye from ” Tumhari Waali”. <Kambakkht Ishq>

Now getting into the real world, job, office, presentation, deadlines. Here also our macho boys are in the league to become extraordinary gentleman. Office work is a second priority but have to go for the latest movie with the lady of there life. Ratings, salary hardly matters the most important job is not missing a SALE. If have to wait late at night for office work it’s hectic but a 12:00 AM birthday cake is must. <Kambakkht Ishq>

Till now i am sure all of you might have got the idea why this is named  as Kambakkht Ishq.

Habit

Habit !!! what do i mean by this, a normal daily routine which all follow in day 2 day activity? Naa!!! HABIT here means when u have an habit of someones company. All through the day u do all the things 2geather, be it lunch, dinner, shopping etc. One gets the habit of being with someone all through the day. It can be anyone u’r best friend, u’r girlfriend, some teammate, anybody. It’s just by willingness or unwillingness somebody becomes such an essential part of u’r life that u regret the day when he is not with u.

Just imagine a situation when one of u’r closest friend as described above is not with u. This is the gravest day of u’r life, believe me. Just imagine a pizza hut, where u love 2 go, but u can’t dare 2 go there coz it would look aukward alone sitting in a pizza hut. An ice cream strore u visited most often, but now loneliness crawls here also. U want 2 have u’r favorite ice cream but can’t go inside coz, the memories of u’r friend would be haunting u and u dare not sit alone in that place.

Friends are most essential part of our life. We do not realize there importance till they go far away from us. I know all of us have been in such a situation in our life, it’s just that we fail to acknowledge the truth. So all of u reading this blog, please realize that the most important day of u’r life is today and the most important person is the one right now with u. Enjoy the present so that it can become a pleasant memory to cherish in the past. :)

Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!

Oye Lucky Lucky Oye(OLLO) is a fun filled movie and have lots to offer to the audience. It is a story about a lower middle class sikh boy who has lots of dreams , but due to financial condition of the family he is handcuffed. So to fulfill his dreams he takes a easy way out and becomes a thief. The plot of the story is good and the rythm does not breaks throughout the movie. Dibakar Banerjee’s legacy continues with Khosala ka Ghosala to OLLO, a bit of satire added with comedy. Not much songs as the story dosn’t require them.

Abhay Deol has done a brilliant work. He has beautifully carried the character of Lucky with full justice. This guy has talent. Paresh Rawal as usual done a flawless acting. Neetu chandra is looking graceful. Just a movie to chill out with your friends and have lots of fun . My rating will be 3/5.

Yuvraaj

Just finding words to say about yuvraaj. Yet another a big banner movie with the lights of Biggies of the industry, Subhash Ghai,A.R.Rehman, Salman…. but not good enough. A highly expected movie but a complete let down for many of us. The movie is of a kind that not everybody will appreciate it. Subhash Ghai has tried to make another his trade mark kind of movie, but lacked that enough punch.

The story of the movie in the first and the second half were not well connected. A.R.Rehman has given a so-so kind of music. On the musical aspect movie has one or two songs to offer, rest are avoidable. Subhash Ghai known for good songs in his movie but this time not hitting the target.

The cast of the movie is good but it feels like not everyone was given enough time on the screen. Zyed was complete mess yet again, Kaitrina was kind of a side heroine, the major role plays were of Anil and Salman. Anil doing a repeat of acting as done by him in his movie ‘Eshwar’.

Movie is shot on great locations, the cinematography is good. Overall not a movie for all , Salman Khan’s fans can watch it but not at all a must watch kind of a movie. My rating would be 2.5/5.
